POLIFASE was a concert series in 2026 curated by Aaron With, which explored new percussive possibilities within experimental music. Each concert brought together unusual combinations of percussionists with musicians from styles and genres they had not previously performed with. The curation opened new sonic worlds by pairing a contemporary improvisation master with a Georgian choir, a pre-Colombian percussion interpreter with field recording and spiritual saxophone, a Cuban bata expert with microtonal synths, a free jazz virtuoso with a contemporary classical ensemble, and other unorthodox alliances.

All musical pairings had one instruction: to explore the rhythmic perspectives and strategies of the percussionist, drawing on the tools of the other musicians to illuminate those percussive logics from new angles. Recordings of the series are forthcoming.
